About Us

Who we are, what we do and why we do it

My passion for interacting with people and my drive to be of service has lead me to a decades-long career in sales. But I have never been interested in selling just any product. I have always gravitated toward products that enhance someone’s life, products with value, that make a difference.

A few years ago I was briefly semi-retired and took a part-time job driving a bus for the Red Cross, transporting people to medical appointments, day programs, and dialysis treatments. Some of the people I drove were seniors, some had cognitive challenges or disabilities that meant they could not transport themselves, and many used wheelchairs. The job introduced me to people I had not paid attention to before and opened my eyes to their strength, resilience, intelligence, and the sense of humour they had about themselves and the world. This led me to have an interest in products that enhance accessibility.

I then spent several years working full time at Kinova Robotics as a Product Specialist. Kinova’s flagship product is the JACO robotic arm that attaches to the side of a power wheelchair to help those with upper body limitations. The benefit it offered those with upper body limitations was impressive.

I am now working as a consultant with Kinova and also with Active Healthcare Solutions in Vancouver, providing assistive products from them regionally. I continue to look for and to work with high tech AT devices that help people to be more independent and functional.

The creation of RehaThrive Assistive is the next step for me. As we move toward creating communities and workplaces that are accessible, many new and exciting products are being manufactured to enhance autonomy for those living with diagnosis such as Cerebral Palsy, Muscular dystrophy and ALS.  RehaThrive Assistive enables me to present them to you. My mission is to assist you, or your family member with a disability, to have greater Access; my purpose is to Empower you and to Facilitate that journey.

This website is still very much a work in progress, and I will be adding to it, making it more extensive as I go along. Thank you for visiting, and I hope you take the time to explore the website and products more fully.
